OCTA MONDAY NIGHT SOCIAL TENNIS.
Co-Directors are Lynn Gibsonand Roy Gibson. This is a summer event held on successive Monday nights. This program involves players of all levels and both sexes. It is designed to introduce players to each other and to provide nights of playing fun tennis with players having different levels of playing skills. Basically, participants draw names for initial partners, then play an abbreviated no-ad, best of 4 game match against another drawing-matched team. The losers of the first match, then move to another court, switch to a new partner, and play a second match against new opponents. The winners remain on the same court, but switch partners and then play a second match. Participants repeat this process, and play matches until they are tired of playing. Players who wish to play longer may do so by simply getting a new partner. OCTA membership is required to attend and play. There is no additional charge. Lots of people unacquainted with each other enjoy participation in Monday Night Social Tennis and often gain new playing partners. All you have to do is introduce yourself to those you do not already know, then play your matches.

There are no charges and only satisfaction and club-wide acknowledgement for the league winners. Once a match is played, one member of the winning team must call or e-mail the League Director and report the match score. Failure to report the score within 48 hours of completing the match will result in the match having to be replayed. League play will begin at a pre-selected date in early December. Every team in the league must play every other team a pre-determined number of times and all matches must be completed by an announced date in late February. OCTA PLAY PALS PROGRAM.
The Director is Ed Keiser. The OCTA maintains lists by playing level (e.g. 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, and 5.0), of OCTA members who feel they are most comfortable playing at these levels. OCTA members may obtain a list for a given playing level provided they are willing to be included on the list requested. These lists will include the names and home and cell telephone numbers of tennis players who have asked to be included. Each list will be provided to all persons included on the list. Lists will be updated when individuals are added or deleted. Members may register to be listed on one list or two lists.
Being listed means:
1. You are willing to have your name and telephone number(s) provided to other tennis players who are registered at your selected ability level(s).
2. You are willing to be contacted via phone by persons on the list who are
trying to locate someone to play tennis.
3. If contacted, you are under no obligation to play. You play only if you wish to play.
4. You will receive a copy of the list(s) for which you are registered and periodic e-mail updates.
5. You may contact anyone on the list with the understanding that they do not mind being contacted for possible tennis matches.
6. Players involved in matches arrange their own matches and play entirely at their own risks.
7. With a simple e-mail request, you may have your name removed from future lists.
